Exclusive interview with Jennifer Zeng: Why CCP might have killed Abe and war plans of China
US 2021 elections were likely rigged by CCP; a small, and controlled friction with India is possible in the near future, just like the Sino-India war of 1962. That war provided the then CCP leader Mao Zedong new support after he was criticized for the Great Chinese Famine
We recently published an article on the likely role of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Abe’s assassination (read Did China’s CCP kill Shinzo Abe? – MDDTimes) based on posts of US-based former Chinese consultant Jennifer Zeng. Here we publish an exclusive email interview with Zeng, a Peking University graduate, who had to leave China to escape persecution just because she practiced Falun Gong. A renowned journalist and author, Zeng reveals chilling plans of CCP and the dangers countries like India face in future.
MDDTimes: Tell us about yourself. Where did you work in China and why did you leave the country? What have you been doing since leaving China?
Jennifer Zeng: I worked at the Development Research Centre of the State Council of the PRC (the highest-level government policy research and consultant body in China) until 1996 as a research fellow. Then I worked at the Investment Consulting Company of Tsinghua Unigroup as a consultant and manager in its investment department until 2000.
I left China in 2001 after being tortured in the Beijing Female Labor Camp for about one year for practicing Falun Gong (or Falun Dafa, which revolves around the three tenets of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance), an ancient spiritual practice in the Buddhist tradition, that has been ruthlessly persecuted by the CCP since 1999.
Since then, I have been working in the media as a journalist, editor, news director, producer, etc. I have also written a memoir about my experiences in the labor camp entitled “Witnessing History: One woman’s fight for freedom and Falun Gong“. My story was turned into an award-winning documentary called “Free China: the courage to believe“.
MDDTimes: What raised your suspicion on links to CCP in Abe’s assassination? Anything on China’s social networking sites?
Jennifer Zeng: I am not sure whether I have a “suspicion” on links to the CCP in Abe’s assassination.
The facts are: (1) Shortly after Abe’s assassination, even before he was announced dead, a video of Wang Wenbin, CCP’s spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spread on the internet like wild fire. In that 11-second video, Wang had vowed Abe would run into a bloodbath (頭破血流)because he had dared to talk “nonsense” on the Taiwan issue.
For someone with knowledge of Chinese, “running into bloodbath (頭破血流)” would sound like a death threat (rough translation to English on a search engine is “head busting blood flow”).
Actually, this comment, actually a threat, was made on 1 December 2021, the same day when Abe made his famous statement: “A Taiwan emergency is a Japanese emergency, an emergency for the Japan-US alliance.”
When the CCP’s most important mouthpiece published an article about the comment, it used this title: “Foreign Ministry: Anyone who dares to challenge the bottom-line [sic] of the Chinese people will run into bloodbath.” This “death threat” is still on the CCP’s government site.
(2) I have a screenshot of a Chinese user’s “重装小兔19C_” (which can be roughly translated as “Heavily Equipped Little Rabbit 19C_”) post on WeChat about 17 hours before Abe’s assassination that said “[I] have successfully got close to current and former PM of Japan. I will complete the task(s) given to me by the organization.”
Under this post were two photos of public activities (spaces), which were very similar to the one in which Abe was shot. One of the photos was about Abe and his public event too.
Another user “泼墨(Pouring Ink)” replied: “I am counting on you to get another 100,000”, at 20:19 on 7 July.
To this “重装小兔19C_” replied: “I will not let down the organization [the party, the CCP]’s training…”, at 20:24 on 7 July.
All this is in the public. The screenshot was widely circulated on the Chinese social media platforms after Abe’s death. People were shocked by the “coincidence” of the claims in the posts, and naturally questioned: Are there any connections between the “task(s)” and Abe’s death? And if not, what were the task(s) mentioned in the post? Do they plan to do something to the current Prime Minister of Japan too?
This could also be a joke and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. But again, the question is, who would want to make such a joke 17 hours before Abe’s assassination unless he/she knew something would happen?
Another thing to take note is another account “重装小兔19C_” on Twitter. This account follows Abe and several other major Japanese accounts.
The CCP is the biggest threat to humankind.
– Jennifer Zeng
MDDTimes: How could CCP benefit from this?
Jennifer Zeng: We all know that Abe was the core force and figure who pushed to get rid of Article-9 of the Japanese Constitution so that Japan could defend itself and help the US against the CCP’s expansionism.
Abe was also the main force behind forming international alliances such as QUAD to push back CCP’s aggression.
Also, Abe had been showing very strong support to Taiwan, and planned to visit Taiwan at the end of July 2022.
The CCP’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin commented on this planned visit, saying, “Japan is historically culpable [sic] to the Chinese people on the Taiwan issue and should be all the more careful in what it says and does. We urge the Japanese side to abide by the one-China principle.”
The CCP might have thought that without Abe, Japan’s constitutional revision process will slow down, the international anti-communist alliance will weaken, divisions and turmoil may arise in Japan, and Japan-Taiwan relations will be hindered.
If the CCP really intends to attack Taiwan in the near future, there is a considerable need to prevent the further development of Japan-Taiwan relations.
In addition, Abe’s assassination could also send a warning to other world leaders: if you dare to go against the CCP, even if you are no longer in office, your personal safety is not guaranteed.
Indeed, after Abe’s assassination, several questions by the media to me were around the possibility of the CCP pulling off similar incidents in other countries.
MDDTimes: Have you alerted officials in the US/Japan? Has anyone contacted you?
Jennifer Zeng: No, I have not. But I did tag several Japanese and US agencies when I tweeted about the above-mentioned post. So far, nobody has contacted me.
MDDTimes: Some say Donald Trump was supposed to win the 2021 US Presidential election and CCP rigged it. Is it true?
Jennifer Zeng: I can only say, highly possible, almost certainly. I have done quite a few shows on the US election, which are on Youtube and on my blog.

MDDTimes: Now that Abe is gone and Trump blocked, who could be the next target?
Jennifer Zeng: World leaders that are most active against the CCP.
MDDTimes: Is there a possibility of Taiwan takeover by CCP in near future, say in a few months?
Jennifer Zeng: It is possible, depending on how things develop in China. A recording of the CCP’s top-secret war mobilization meeting was leaked in May 2022. It reveals a detailed and convincing plan of the CCP’s war mobilization. Though there is no concrete timeline in the plan, my personal opinion is, if the financial, social and political crises in China go out of control, or if Xi Jinping’s third term is under severe pressure, a war with Taiwan or some external enemy will be the only way out for the CCP.
So, as I said in one of my shows, the world should always hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
MDDTimes: Can China take on Russia, India, Japan, US, etc, if they support Taiwan?
Jennifer Zeng: I believe the CCP’s main targets will be Japan and the US. That’s their long-term strategy. For other countries, the CCP’s best wish is for them to stay “neutral”. As for Russia, it seems the CCP is having a much closer relationship with the country since the Beijing Winter Olympics in February, and after Russia invaded Ukraine.
However, if the CCP does [need] an external “enemy”, a small, and controlled friction with India is also a choice, just like the Sino-India war of 1962. That war did provide the then CCP leader Mao Zedong new credit and support after he was severely criticized within the party for the Great Chinese Famine during which millions of Chinese starved to death.
MDDTimes: Your concluding remarks?
Jennifer Zeng: The CCP is the biggest threat to humankind. Never be deceived or swayed by the CCP; never harbor any illusions about the CCP.
