Happy new year 2023! A message from the editor

While 2022 was disappointing for most of us around the world, MDDTimes takes a look at what 2023 could bring

MDDTimes

MDDTimes wishes you all a very happy and prosperous new year 2023!

Dear readers,

Greetings from MDDTimes!

We have taken small steps towards building a new independent online media house, with sharp focus on news that doesn’t reach you via traditional media and analysis that helps you make decisions.

It has been a few months since MDDTimes was launched and we have focused on organic growth in terms of readership and social media following. What numbers don’t show is the active engagement of readers with some articles getting a readership of over 20,000 in a few days.

Topic-wise, our coverage has been limited, partly owing to problems that start-ups usually face. But we have highlighted racism, international politics and issues of national importance. Disabled and other marginalised sections of the society are our priorities and you will see more stories about these that don’t really have a voice in the society.

Similarly, the issue of rising separatism and hatred in some states like Tamil Nadu, fuelled mainly by greedy corrupt politicians is important to highlight and spread with your help.

About 2022, many feel disappointed by what has not happened – economic rise, end of wars and Covid, communal harmony and overall betterment and growth. As we step into 2023, while we hope things turn for the better, we are aware of the multiple challenges that India and the world face. Will there be a full-blown war between Russia and the US, India and China, in the Middle-east? Will Covid lead to more lockdowns? Will elections lead to more instability across the country? The markets recover and hiring increase?

These are some questions that only 2023 will answer. However, our radar will be on these and more. We look to expand our small team this year and bring to you more articles, especially indepth-probing stories under the “Life” section. Look forward to exclusive interviews too.

We seek your support in our endeavour and your valuable feedback. We hope 2023 brings us all a better life.

Thank you for your most valuable patronage.
