The government has asked post offices across the nation to remain open even on holidays and Sundays until 15 August for uninterrupted sale and delivery of the tricolour.

Under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the government has urged people to hoist the national flag at their homes o 15 August 2022 to commemorate 75 years of independence. It has also asked people to change their profile picture to the tiranga on 15 August 2022.

“To facilitate the sales and distribution of national flag under Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, all Post Offices will function on holidays, falling before Independence Day 2022,” said a government statement.

However, post offices will have just one counter for the sale of the tricolour. “Special arrangements will be made for the sale of national flag on public holidays, ie, on 7, 9 and 14 August 2022 through at least one counter at Post Offices. Special arrangements will also be made for the delivery of the National Flags in all delivery Post Offices,” the statement added.

India Post has also made arrangements for online sales for bulk orders.
